- Orthopedics
For Orthopedic purposes, a CT scan is used to detect both bone and soft tissue damage. If your physician suspects you have a condition or injury that doesn’t appear on an x-ray, they may recommend a CT scan.
During a routine x-ray,
dense tissues can block other areas. The CT
scans produce “slices” of particular parts of the
body. The CT scan puts together the different
“slices” and creates a three-dimensional view,
clearly showing both bone and soft tissue.
